One thing that helps me save money on groceries is making a menu and then write it down on another list. Be sure to write down every single ingredient you need for each meal. My thoughts would be even if you think you might have that item write it down anyway because if you are like me you might forget to check. Then you come home from the grocery store you look for that item and you don't have it.

"This blog post is for you if...."
you or your spouse work outside of the home and if your children attend school. Prepare meals ahead of time for lunches. It's something I'm learning to do. But it saves a lot of money. For instance this week I have been having the creamy chicken recipe I shared on Wednesday along with bake beans. It has been delicious and I have been enjoying it. Caleb's lunches are a different story. He doesn't like to have to wait in the long lines at work to use a microwave so he will take seasoned crackers, chips, sandwiches, wraps or something leftover that doesn't require a microwave. I feel like how everybody does lunches will be a different way but this is something that works for us. Preparing meals ahead of time is a task that will take a while at first. Learning the process of how much you need and then finding a day that you can prepare them ahead of time.

"2 Meals"
"Beef Roast Meal"
2-2.5 pound roast browned in a frying pan with vegetable oil and flour rubbed into the unthawed roast. Then once that is done add your roast to a crock pot that already has aluminum foil and water in it. Lastly add 1/4-1/2 bottle of country bob's on it and a packet of onion soup mix. Serve with corn and homemade biscuits.
Roast $14.28 (usually I get it cheaper than this)
Country Bob's $1.31
Onion soup mix $0.29
Corn $0.39
Biscuits $0
Total: $15.88
The ingredients with the homemade biscuits you should already have at home. I will share that recipe sometime.
"Beef Roast sandwiches"
Using leftover roast from the meal above. Add it to a crock pot or cook it on the stove and add a bottle of BBQ sauce to it. Serve with Mack n Cheese or Chips.

BBQ sauce $1.97
Hamburger buns $0.44
Slice Cheese $0.36
Chips $0.41
